Hensley, Kelley haul in Daktronics’ All-Region accolades
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Carson-Newman leftfielder Kelli Hensley (Knoxville, Tenn.) and third baseman Sara Kelley (Ooltewah, Tenn.) were both lauded Tuesday morning with Daktronics' All-Region accolades.  Hensley landed on the first team, Kelley on the second team.

Hensley only set the South Atlantic Conference and school records for hits in a single season with 92.  In the process, she batted .492, the third highest single season total in SAC history and the second highest in school history.

Hensley was a first team All-SAC selection and C-N softball's 13th conference player of the year.  She leads the nation in triples with 10 and is eighth in the nation in batting average.  She produced a prodigious 27 multi-hit games including four with four hits.  Outside of Hensley, you won't wind four other four-hit games for C-N in the last five years.

The sophomore also pounded out inside-the-park home runs against Belmont Abbey and Georgia College.

Kelley collects her second team all-region accolade after setting the school record with career home runs with 35.

Kelley was second in the league in runs batted in with 60. Her 12 home runs are tied for third most in the conference.  She leads the league with 19 doubles and has produced multi-RBI games on 16 occasions.

Her 55 career doubles go down as a school record and the fifth most for a career in SAC history.
