TEAM:
Volleyball: Winners of the Southeast Region and South Atlantic Conference Tournament, the first time in school history with two tournament trophies, the Orange and Blue won 28 matches, the third-most in school history while resetting the home wins mark with 14, beating two ranked teams for the first time and notching 18 sweeps closing the season 21-3 over the final two months. Carson-Newman received 28 votes in the final AVCA poll, its highest finish in program history. The Eagles dropped one set en route to a conference tournament championship and one frame during a run to a Southeast Region title for the second time in five years.
Men's Soccer: The Eagles went above and beyond the seventh-place finishes they were predicted to have in the South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches' poll. C-N went 10-4-3 in 2019 and brought home its first South Atlantic Conference Regular Season title since 2015, its 10th in program history. The Orange and Blue were ranked as high as No. 13 in the nation by the end of October and brought in a slew of 16 accolades throughout the postseason, including SAC Coach of the Year for Stephen Lyons, SAC Defensive Player of the Year for Kensho Yoshikoshi, seven All-SAC and three All-Region selections.
Football: For the 26th time in program history, Carson-Newman football made a trip to the NCAA tournament. The Eagles advanced to the second round before falling at Lenoir-Rhyne. Along the way, the Eagles handed previously unbeaten and 11th-ranked Bowie State a 17-9 loss outside of Washington, D.C. Carson-Newman forced 30 turnovers on the year to rank in the top 10 in the country, included in that were 22 picks, the fourth most nationally and the third most in program history. The Eagles finished the year in the top five for rushing offense with more than 290 yards per game on the ground.
