Play of the Decade Finals Set, Voting Open

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The championship finals for the Carson-Newman Play of the Decade will feature a rematch for the Frosty Award for the 2018 Play of the Year.

Through 10 years worth of video and plays, the two finalists for the Play of the Decade took place within 19 days of one another.

One-seeded Tanner Stepp and his national championship winning high jump collected 52.9 percent of the vote to move past fellow one seed, Braxton Westfield and his one-handed catch at Lenoir-Rhyne.  On the other side of the bracket, the third-seeded play where Charlie Brown and Ethan Goforth retired the tying run at the plate to beat Northwood knocked off second-seeded Joao Pedro Dowsley and his 88th minute goal in the national semifinals against Simon Fraser. Brown and Goforth prevailed with a tournament best 315 votes and 54.2 percent of the voting share.

Stepp prevailed with the Frosty Award for Play of the Year in 2018.
