JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman will play host to the 45-year reunion for the Ron Case-coached C-N football teams from 1978-79.
Players from that era are invited to a pregame tailgate on Saturday, Oct. 7 before the Eagles kick off against Tusculum.
The reunion tailgate will begin on the football practice field at 11 a.m. 1978-79 Football alumni wishing to attend the tailgate and receive game tickets may register here. There is no charge to attend the tailgate.
The 1978 team went 2-8. but rebounded for a 6-4 record in 1979 to kick off a string of 32 consecutive non-losing seasons by the Carson-Newman football program. The 1979 season culminated with wins in four of the final five weeks of the year, including a 36-10 throttling of defending national runner up Elon in the regular season finale.
