Eagles prepare to host second home tournament this weekend

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -- Carson-Newman is fresh off its first wins in program history after taking down Eastern Kentucky University last weekend in their first home tournament of the 2019 season. They look to continue that trend and go head to head with Lincoln Memorial and Stevenson University this weekend again at Mossy Creek.

Just in their second year as a beach volleyball program, the Eagles are 2-14 on this season. LMU proved to be tough competition last season as the two squads met three times and were unable to get a win out of the three. The Railsplitters are just 2-4 on the season having started competition quite late in the month of March.

Stevenson University (18-6) is an opponent the Eagles have seen once already this season just narrowly falling 3-2 back at the beginning of March at the Principia College Beach Bash in Indiana. Both points for the Eagles were comeback wins as they dropped the first sets at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions but came back to win in three.

The squads will go head to head on Saturday and Sunday at Mossy Creek beginning in the morning. The Eagles will face Stevenson bright and early at 9 a.m. and LMU at 3 p.m. on both days. For results, updates and information check back on cneagles.com.
