Lady Eagles Tied for Fourth after First Day of Patsy Rendleman Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. — The Carson-Newman women's golf team is in a tie for fourth after the first round of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational at the Country Club of Salisbury on Monday.

The Lady Eagles shot a 314 (+26) and are tied with Lincoln Memorial and Pfeiffer. Belmont Abbey leads the field after shooting a 294 (+6), while UNC Pembroke is in second with a score of 297 (+9) and Newberry is third with a score of 308 (+20).

Junior Erica Ray (Maryville, Tenn.) led the way for C-N after shooting a 3-over 75 on Monday to finish in a tie for ninth. Sophomore Melanie Manis (Louisville, Tenn.) is tied for 20th after carding a 78 (+6). Jennifer Oliver (Knoxville, Tenn.) is tied for 30th with an 80 (+8), while Jessica Tarbet (Corryton, Tenn.) is in a tie for 34th with an 81 (+9) and Heather Houser (Kingsport, Tenn.) is tied for 41st after turning in an 83 (+11).

Belmont Abbey's Michele Low and UNC Pembroke's Katja Dammann are tied atop the leaderboard after each firing 1-under 71.

The final round of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational will be played on Tuesday.
