Eagles finish in Top Ten in the first round of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational
Salisbury, NC. – Carson-Newman finished day one of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational ninth out of 16 teams, Monday at the Country Club of Salisbury.
“We didn’t play as well as we would have liked today,” Head Coach Amanda Moore said. “I still see opportunities of improvement for our team; we just have to take it a step at a time.”Junior Mary Tunnell (Cordova, Tenn.) and freshman Kelli Pemberton (Knoxville, Tenn.) are in a six way-way tie for 29th after shooting matching 81’s (+9).
Danielle Baiunco was 12 over for the day, which tied her at 46th. Merideth Hawkins shot 85 (+13), tying her at 52nd and Chelsea Passmore ended the day with a score of 86 (+14) putting her tied for 57th.
“I am confident that we will go out tomorrow and player a stronger, better round,” Moore said.
C-N shot a team score of 331 (+ 43) putting those 37 strokes behind first place team Newberry College.
The Eagles with begin round two of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, Tuesday at 8 a.m.
