Women's Golf signs first recruit for 2013-2014 season

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's head women's golf coach Amanda Moore announced her first signing for the 2013-2014 golf seasons. The Eagles have inked Cave Spring High School's, Jessica Hart (Roanoke, V.A.).

"I had the opportunity to meet Jessica while working the Wake Forest Golf Camp this past summer and she made an immediate impression on me," Moore said.

Hart will be entering Carson-Newman after qualifying for the Virginia Girl's Individual State Championship twice. Hart is also a two-time qualifier at the Ladies' Club Championship at Hunting Hills Country Club.

During her junior year, Hart's team was River Ridge District Champions in addition to picking up a regional championship and finishing as VHSL AA state runners-up.

"She is a very well-rounded athlete and will come to Carson-Newman with plenty of tournament experience," Moore said.

Academically, Hart holds a 3.5 GPA and has received Outstanding Band Student Award as well as Band Director's Award.

Moore is excited about her team's new addition and believes Hart will contribute greatly throughout her time at Carson-Newman.

"I know she is a hard worker and will be a perfect fit for C-N," Moore said. "I am very much looking forward to coaching her and watching her grow as a student-athlete."

The Eagles will take to the links again in Spring 2013.
