Dye grabs second-team NFCA All-Region honors

LOUISVILLE - Carson-Newman junior shortstop Hayden Dye (Knoxville, Tenn.) has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's All-Southeast Region team, the organization announced Thursday afternoon. 

This is Dye's first all-region honor of her career.  She is the second Carson-Newman shortstop to earn all-region honors in the last three years, joining Leah Sohm.  

Dye hit .409 this season with 14 doubles, two triples and 12 home runs.  She also drove in 57 runs.  Dye finished the regular season sixth in the conference in batting average and fourth in runs batted in.  Her 12 bombs are also sixth in the conference.  Dye produced 17 multi-hit games, including her first career four-hit day against Coker on March 5.  She has driven in multiple runs in 15 games this season.  She topped out with a career-best six-RBI day against Coker. 

Dye's 57 RBI are the ninth-most for a single-season in school history, while her 12 home runs are tied for ninth-most in a single-season in school history.
