Lady Eagles come up short against Mount Olive, 5-4

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team was unable to overcome a slow start in doubles play on Friday afternoon as they fell to Mount Olive, 5-4, at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.

With the loss, the Lady Eagles drop to 4-2 on the season.

C-N lost all three doubles matches before bouncing back with four wins in the singles matches. However, the Lady Eagles fell just short.

Singles winners for the Lady Eagles were senior Taryn Cappadona (Kennesaw, Ga.), freshman Stefy Stand (Ecuador), senior Stephanie Goode (Knoxville, Tenn.) and sophomore Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.).

C-N returns to action on Thursday, March 17 at Pfeiffer.
