SALISBURY, NC – Carson-Newman (3-4, 1-2 SAC) earned its first South Atlantic Conference victory on Saturday, defeating Catawba (7-3, 2-1 SAC), 4-3.
The Eagles and the Indians split in singles play, as Natasha Forrest and Sindija Manovska earned three-set wins, while Suryanshi continued an impressive freshman campaign with another win in No. 4 singles. Manovska's win in No. 5 singles clinched the match for C-N, as she overcame a first-set loss to earn the decisive fourth point.

In doubles, the Eagles were able to overcome losing in the No. 1 slot, as the freshmen duo of McBride and Suryanshi earned a big win in No. 2 doubles, while Sindija Manovska and Anita Chornei locked up the important point in No. 3.
