JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Following a quick turnaround after defeating Catawba on Saturday, Carson-Newman (3-5, 1-2 SAC) fell to No. 24 Lee (6-1, 2-1 GSC), 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles and the Flames played till clinch, so only three matches took the court for singles play. Lee swept the three matches, clinching the match point.

No. 1: Anita Chornei (C-N) vs. Ashleigh Simes (LEE), DNP
No. 2: Maria Penalver Aguilo (LEE) def. Summer Reeves (C-N), 6-2/6-4
No. 3: Suryanshi (C-N) vs. Kanna Kobayakawa (LEE), DNP
No. 4: Fernanda Duarte (LEE) def. Sindija Manovska (C-N), 6-3/6-0
No. 5: Leah McBride (C-N) vs. Elizaveta Gnilozubova (LEE), DNP
No. 6: Hayden Smith (LEE) def. Maria Ulloa (C-N), 6-3/6-3
Lee had similar success in doubles, although C-N did put forth a competitive showing, with each match coming within two games. Despite the Eagles' efforts, the Flames took all three matches to earn the doubles point.

After a long weekend, C-N will have a chance to regroup and prepare to host Anderson, who treks to Jefferson City on Wednesday.
