Eagles tackle Warriors for third win of season

Babson Park, Fla.—The Carson-Newman beach volleyball team picked up its third win of the season with the 4-1 rout over Webber Thursday morning to begin a busy weekend of action for the Eagles.

The Warriors (0-1) welcomed the Eagles (3-2) to town looking to pick up their first win of the early season. Strong play at the top of the lineup enabled Carson-Newman to pick up win No. 3 of the season and five in the program's history.

Katie Will (Clearwater, Fla.) and Ally King (Cincinnati, Ohio) then followed with another three-set victory at No. 2. The duo combined to win the 11-21, 21-14 and 19-7 outcome to become 5-0 on the season.

Maddie Zyburt (Plainfield, Ill.) and Taylor Lowe (Franklin, Tenn.) came out on top in the third match 21-19 and 21-7 in two sets while Kristina Hill (Lake Orion, Mich.) and Natalie Harris (Monroe, N.C.) won 21-14 and 22-20 at No. 4.

The Eagles' lone dropped match of the contest came in the fifth-seeded and final dual where Eileen Anderson (Pittstown, N.J.) and Megan Morris (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) fell 21-11 and 21-9 to Dawson Boese and Lauren Dehls.
