Eagles bow to Queens in 2-0 conference loss

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Last year's SAC champions Queens (7-7-2, 5-3-2 SAC) toppled the Carson-Newman (3-11, 1-8 SAC) women's soccer team 2-0 earlier tonight.

Brenna Kate Grass put the Royals up on the board 15 minutes into the game off a through ball sent by Caitlyn Rodrigues.

In the 63rd minute, Ashley Osiecki lofted a corner kick into the Eagles' box where it met the foot of Sydney Michelin for Queens' goal number two.

C-N outshot the Royals 18 to six and nine to three in shots on goal. Freshman Camilla Olsson (Norway) led the Eagles in shots with five, four on goal. Junior Mikayla Gregg (Newport, Tenn.) took four shots and placed two on target while sophomore Nora Logan (Charlotte, N.C.) landed both her shots on frame.

"The girls played well," Carson-Newman head soccer coach Richard Moodie said. "We just need to wrap up the season strong."

The Eagles head back to McCown Field Monday to host SAC rival Tusculum. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
