JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – First-year Carson-Newman head women's soccer coach Simon Duffy unveiled C-N women's soccer's 2017 schedule, which features eight games inside the friendly confines of McCown Field  at Harvey Stadium and eight trips away from Mossy Creek.

"I think our home schedule is strong," Duffy said. "We play the cream of the crop at home.  I like our nonconference schedule at home too opening with Ferris State and Georgia College.  It's always tough when you play in this league because the coaching and talent of the players is so high."

Carson-Newman opens up the season by playing six of its first eight games at home.  The season gets rolling Sept. 1 at McCown Field with a matchup with  the GLIAC's Ferris State in what will be the first ever meeting between the programs.  Two days later, the Eagles take on Georgia College, the Eagles are 1-0 all-time against the Bobcats, taking a 1-0 decision in 2009.

The Eagles play their first road game on Sept. 6 with a jaunt up the mountain to Banner Elk, N.C. to take on Lees-McRae, a club C-N beat 4-0 in its home opener last year.

C-N then closes out the first section of nonconference play Sept. 9 with a meeting with Francis Marion, whom C-N drubbed 10-0 last season.

"We'll have a bullseye and everyone will give us their best games," Duffy said. "I hope that the girls will continue to work like they have in the spring and that the new players will gel quickly.  We'll have to hit the ground running to continue the success that this program has had over the past couple years."

Conference play starts Sept. 13 at Mars Hill before the Eagles play four of their next five at home.  Newberry, NCAA tournament participant Lenoir-Rhyne line a three-game home stand for C-N before the Eagles close out the month of September with a nonconference neutral site match with Clayton State and a road trip to Anderson.

The month of October only has two home games for C-N.  Duffy's club opens the month with a matchup against rivals Lincoln Memorial.  Senior night is set for Oct. 14 with a rematch of last year's SAC title game against Wingate.  The Eagles knocked off the Bulldogs 2-1.

Carson-Newman will have to cope with a three-game road swing to close out the year.  The Eagles finish at Tusculum, a nonconference matchup with King – Duffy's former team, and a lengthy road trip to Coker.
