No. 2! 2017 C-N Women's Soccer achieves highest national ranking in program history

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Carson-Newman Women's Soccer program reached the highest national rank in program's history today, after the United Soccer Coaches National Poll placed the Eagles at No. 2.

The team started out at 25th in the nation in the preseason poll, before making pit stops at six other ranks before reaching the #2 position.

Prior to 2017, the highest a C-N team has been ranked came back in the 2003 season, when the team was No. 3 in the nation following the end of season polls.

"There have been so many great teams that have played here at Carson-Newman. So happy for this group of players and for the dedication and work they've put in so far this season," Coach Simon Duffy stated. "Hopefully we can continue to work hard and push for more results in our favor."

The Eagles are slated to kick off the Quarterfinals of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. from McCown Field. The eight-seeded Newberry College Wolves visit Mossy Creek for the second time this season.
