Eagles move up to No. 12 in United Soccer Coaches' poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. The Carson-Newman women's soccer's program has moved up to No. 12 in the United Soccer Coaches week one national poll as announced Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Eagles previously sat at No. 25 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll, but climbed the ranks after earning two wins to open the season.

 

C-N posted wins over Ferris State and Columbia College over the weekend, outscoring the opponents 7-1.

 

The Eagles topped the Bulldogs of Ferris State in a 2-0 shutout on Friday, Sept. 1 and turned right around 2 days later defeating the Bobcats 5-1 on Sept. 3.

 

The team will now get ready for its first road game of the season as they take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats Wednesday, Sept 6 at 5:00 p.m.
