Eagles nix meeting with Bulldogs

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Saturday was supposed to be the start of the 2021 spring season for Carson-Newman women's tennis. However, due to COVID related issues within the Union (Ky.) women's tennis program, Carson-Newman's meeting with the Bulldogs Saturday has been nixed and will not be rescheduled.

C-N now turns its attention as they open the spring season on Sunday against fellow Division II foe and nationally-ranked North Georgia Nighthawks.

North Georgia comes into Saturday after another phenomenal 2021 season, leading to a projection of third in the latest Peach Belt Conference Preseason poll. The Nighthawks also placed two athletes on preseason All-PBC teams in Vaishali Jorge and Anna Markvartova. In 2021, UNG advanced to the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional, finishing the season with a mark of 12-5 overall and 6-2 in PBC play.

First serve between the Eagles and Nighthawks is set for 11 a.m. Sunday from the confines of the Knoxville Racquet Club.
