Promotion, hirings announced for C-N’s external operations

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman's athletic department has announced the hiring and promotion of a staffer within its external operations group.

Megan Oldenburger has been promoted to Corporate Relations Coordinator after completing her graduate assistantship.

Oldenburger is a former Carson-Newman volleyball player. An All-SAC first teamer in the spring of 2021, Oldenburger produced her 1,000th career kill behind a team-high 20 smashes in a five-set win over Lincoln Memorial on March 26, 2021. She became the 14th player in history to hit quadruple digits. The senior is the fourth player to cross 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.

On the program's all-time ledger, she has tallied 1,045 smashes needing five more to move in 13th. The outside hitter has 1,237 scoops to rank ninth while her 121 service aces put her two behind of the No. 8 position.

Taking over Oldenburger's graduate assistantship is former beach volleyball player Morgan Siwiec – who joins the department as an athletics development graduate assistant.  She will help with revenue generation and ticketing.

Siwiec wrapped up her beach volleyball career as the program's all-time leader in wins with 32.  Her .690 win percentage as a senior with a 20-9 record is also a school-record.

Finally, former Carson-Newman football student manager Jackson White has been hired as an operations and marketing assistant.  After four years in the C-N football equipment room, White will now aid in gameday operations for all 21 of Carson-Newman's varsity sports.
