KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Track and Field collected multiple personal records and top-ten finishes at the 2025 Tennessee Invitational.

The Eagles earned three podium finishes with Sydney McCarty earning bronze in the women's long jump, Oluwatimi Williams earning bronze in the men's discus throw, and the Men's 4x100 relay team earning third in the final event of the meet.

Other top-ten finishes included Dawson Jones who placed eighth in the men's 100m with a 10.40, Sade De Sousa (Namibia) placing tenth in the women's 100m with an 11.71 with six of the top ten finishers coming from the host institution of the University of Tennessee, Favour Ekpekpe (Nigeria) placed sixth in the men's 200m, Rylan Jordan (Johnson City, Tenn.) placed eighth in the men's 400m, and Colten Lee (Knoxville, Tenn.) placed ninth in the men's 1500m.

Oluwafemi Richards (Hendersonville, Tenn.) made his outdoor season debut placing sixth in the men's high jump, as Carlos Kouassi (Basel, Switzerland), also making his outdoor debut for the Eagles, placed fifth in the men's triple jump, and Brooke Taylor (Knoxville, Tenn.) placed ninth in the women's triple jump setting a new PR of 11.66m.

Other Eagles also set PRs including Jeremiah Carroll (Atlanta, Ga.) in the men's 110m hurdles, Rylan Jordan in the men's 400m, Andrew Zona (Collierville, Tenn.) in the men's 800m, Steffi Johnson (Sevierville, Tenn.) in the women's 1500m, Henry Hunter (Abingdon, Va.) in the men's 5000m, and Brooke Taylor in the women's triple jump.

Multiple events saw the Eagles rank top ten in their specific event in the Division II level including McCarty's long jump which ranks sixth in Division II this outdoor season with her 5.99m attempt. Ekpekpe's time of 20.93 in the 200m ranks ninth best in Division II this season.

Of note, C-N National Champion Andre Morrison, who is ineligible to compete this outdoor season for Carson-Newman, ran in the 100m unattached. He won the event with a 10.03 which ranks as a top five time at any collegiate level this outdoor season.

Carson-Newman Track and Field is back in action in a split-squad weekend from April 11 through 13 at the Lee Fast Break Athletics Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn., and the Southside Power and Fitness Invitational in Hickory, N.C. hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne.
