Cook-Calhoun shot around the right side of the line and rolled untouched with a beeline on Craven as the Tornados' QB was rolling a waggle left.
As Craven set to throw, Cook-Calhoun reached the Brevard gunslinger and sent him packing into next week with a blind-side hit that lifted Craven off his feet while dislodging the football from his hand.
Cook-Calhoun's hit has also been nominated as the Hero Sports Play of the Week, which fans can vote on here: http://herosports.com/collegefootball/d2-football-highlight-week-6/
Cook-Calhoun and the rest of the Eagles will be on display Saturday for Carson-Newman's annual homecoming game. Newberry is in town for the 3 p.m. kick. Coverage for the contest begins at 2 p.m. on the Eagle Sports Network with the Appalachian Electric Cooperative Tailgate Show on Joy 620 (WRJZ-AM, Knoxville), Mountain Country 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Sevierville) and online at cneagles.com/live.
A strong linebacker or a weak quarterback? Either way this had to hurt!
