VIDEO: Abbreviated Spring Game Hightlights
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman football didn't get to see much of the field Tuesday afternoon at the conclusion of spring practice thanks to a few bolts of lightning that chased the Ealges inside.
However, Carson-Newman's football team will take away some memories from the annual affair.
Will Lindsey, a young man with Down Syndrome, was pronounced an honorary South Atlantic Conference official and got to run the coin toss prior to the abbreviated game.
Lindsey's coin flip, which landed tails up, was the single greatest pregame toss the world has ever seen.
The spring game featured the first team defense challenging the first team offense in a " Play it as the ball lies" scrimmage.
The sides got in a quartet of drives before lightning ended the festivities.
Jared Dillingham (Central, S.C.) found the end zone twice on runs of seven and 47 yards. The Eagle defense also forced the offense off the field on two occasions.
