Eagles Tied for 13th After First Round of Southeastern Collegiate

VALDOSTA, Ga. — The Carson-Newman Eagles are tied for 13th after shooting a 309 (+21) on Sunday in the first round of the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate Golf Tournament at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

Tournament host Valdosta State and Florida Southern both shot 291 (+3) to finish the day in a tie for first.

C-N junior Adam Holt (Liverpool, England) is tied for eighth place after firing a one-over 73 on Sunday, while sophomore Liam Ashby (Dublin, Ireland) carded a 74 and is in a tie for 13th.

Eagles junior John Minor Jr. (Dandridge, Tenn.) turned in a 79 (+7) and will enter the second round in a tie for 63rd. Chase Conn (Mason, Ohio) and Gavin Hay (Glasgow, Scotland) each shot an 83 to tie for 87th place.

Florida Southern's Matt Stauch and Shelton Smith, Valdosta's Chad Smith and Georgia College's Niclas Johansson are all tied for the lead after carding one-under 71s on Sunday.

The second round of the Southeastern Collegiate will begin on Monday morning at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
