HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — The Carson-Newman men's golf team turned in a final-round 297 on Tuesday to finish fifth in the 2010 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship at Etowah Valley Country Club.
The Eagles finished the tournament with a three-round total of 906 (+42).
Lincoln Memorial carded a 286 on Tuesday to claim its first-ever SAC Championship with a score of 873 (+9). Newberry (887), Wingate (899) and Tusculum (903) rounded out the top five.
C-N sophomore Liam Ashby (Dublin, Ireland) carded a final round 74 to finish in a tie for 14th with a score of 223. Junior Adam Holt (Liverpool, England) finished in 22nd after turning in a 76 to bring his three-round total to 227. John Minor Jr. (Dandridge, Tenn.) and Gavin Hay (Glasgow, Scotland) tied for 23rd with scored of 228. Minor tied for the lowest round of the day with a 1-under-par 71, while Hay shot a 76. Chase Conn (Mason, Ohio) finished in a tie for 40th after shooting a 77.
Newberry's Daniel Stanley claimed medalist honors after shooting a 72 on Tuesday.
