Eagles Fall Back to 15th After Second Round of Southeastern Collegiate

VALDOSTA, Ga. — The Carson-Newman men's golf team dropped two spots to 15th place after Monday's second round of the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

The Eagles shot a 312 (+24) to bring their two-day total to 621.

Tournament host Valdosta State carded a 285 (-3) to move into first place. The Blazers, who are even par through the first two rounds with a 576, hold an 11-stroke lead over Barry University (587).

C-N sophomore Liam Ashby (Dublin, Ireland) is in a tie for 19th after two rounds. Ashby turned in a 75 (+3) to bring his two-round total to 149. Junior Adam Holt (Liverpool, England) is tied for 24th after shooting a 77, while John Minor Jr. (Dandridge, Tenn.) carded a 78 and is in a tie for 67th place.

Junior Dustin Davis (Knoxville, Tenn.) is tied for 87th after entering the clubhouse with a second-round 83. Gavin Hay (Glasgow, Scotland) and Chase Conn (Mason, Ohio) shot 82 and 83, respectively, on Monday.

Valdosta State's Chesley Gunn and Armstrong Atlantic's Jacob Tilton each fired rounds of 69 (-3) and are tied for first heading into the final day.

The final round of the Southeastern Collegiate will begin on Tuesday morning at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
