OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman men's golf closed its 2025 regular season with another stellar team round, carding a 4-over third round to finish 3rd at the Music City Invitational.
C-N was led by a nine-spot climb from Elliot MacGregor, delivering a 66-stroke third round to tie for 6th. MacGregor's front nine featured a pair of birdies and six pars, overcoming a late bogey to enter the back nine at 1-under. He was stellar on the back nine, carding six pars and three birdies to finish the round at 4-under.
Nick Daugherty carded a 73 in round three, tying for 10th at 1-under. Daugherty's front nine featured five bogeys but he settled in on the back end of the first nine holes, carding two of the final three holes at par to enter the back nine at 3-over. Daugherty matched a bogey with a birdie on the back nine before carding seven consecutive pars to end the round at 3-over.
Aidan Powter moved up two spots to tie for 26th, carding an even-par third round to finish the event at 4-over. Powter was solid on the front nine, carding a pair of birdies and six pars to overcome a bogey in the middle of the nine, entering the final stretch at 1-under. Powter carded a double bogey on the back nine, but a birdie and seven pars limited the damage, ending his day at 1-over.
Freshman Stefans Spruzs slides in tied for 62nd, carding a 75 in the final round to end the event at 13-over. Spruzs' front nine featured four bogeys but a birdie and four pars to enter the final stretch at 3-over. The freshman carded four holes over par on the back nine but three birdies helped limit the damage, adding only two strokes to his tally to finish the round at 5-over.
Will Bacon rounds out C-N's five, tying for 71st after a 76-stroke third round to finish at 15-over. The freshman carded five pars on the front nine but carded the other four holes at par, entering the final nine holes at 5-over. Despite two holes over par on the back nine, including a double bogey, Bacon tallied a pair of birdies and five pars to close the round at 6-over.
With C-N's regular season concluded, the Eagles will prep for the South Atlantic Conference Championships on April 13th-15th in Greenville, South Carolina.
