DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Carson-Newman Eagles picked up their lone point at No. 3 doubles in an 8-1 loss at North Georgia on Tuesday.
Garrett Duron and Dalton Moore combined for a 9-8 win as the Eagles trailed by a lone point through doubles, 2-1.
Duron sat out singles with an injury as the Eagles surrendered a point at No. 6 singles by forfeit. Duron entered the match 12-3 on the year.
The Eagles struggled to find points elsewhere. Derek Holdway lost his opening set in a tiebreak in a 7-6, 6-4 loss at No. 3 singles.
Dalton Moore dropped his opening set 7-5 at No. 5 singles in another tight loss.
C-N returns to action on Saturday against Mars Hill with a berth in the SAC Tournament on the line.
