GAFFNEY, S.C. – C-N collected a conference win over Limestone on Saturday afternoon collecting a large doubles point to propel themselves to a 4-2 win.
Carson-Newman (3-1, 1-0 South Atlantic Conference) prevailed at the Rector Tennis Center against Limestone (2-3, 1-2 SAC). The Eagles earned the doubles point followed by singles victories from Gjorgji Jankulovski (Macedonia), Louis Keenan (St. Helier, Channel Islands), and Matthew Saunders (Ballyclare, NI, United Kingdom).
"We played a very good Limestone team and showed up where it counted," Carson-Newman Men's Tennis head coach Nathan Gangelhoff said. "Doubles was a strong start for us and we were able to carry that momentum into singles. Matt (Saunders) and Gjorgji (Jankulovski) came in clutch and Louis (Keenan) clinched it for us. That was a good start for us in conference and we have more to prove."
Saunders remained undefeated in dual play singles with a three-set victory in the No. 5 flight 1-6/6-0/6-1.

No. 5: Matthew Saunders (C-N) def. Barthelemy Bourdon (LIME) 1-6, 6-0, 6-1
No. 6: Come De Lorgeril (LIME) def. Leonard Baecker (C-N) 7-6, 6-4
C-N went back and forth with Limestone in doubles coming up clutch finishing the final match in the Eagles' favor going 2-1 in doubles to earn the point.
