JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (9-5, 6-3 South Atlantic Conference) snapped a two-game league losing streak with a 5-0 blitzing of Mars Hill (2-14, 1-10 SAC) Tuesday afternoon on a chilly, blustery day at the Buddy Catlett Tennis Complex.
Carson-Newman tallied its third SAC sweep of the season. Carson-Newman has won nine straight matches against the Lions, four of which have come without allowing MHU to log a point.
"Marnix and Paul really did what we needed them to," Carson-Newman head coach Nathan Gangelhoff said. "Matt got us a singles point as well and that's what you expect from your seniors. The team's energy was great all-around."
