Carson-Newman Fourth After First Day of Queens Invitational

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. -- The Carson-Newman women's golf team carded a team score of 314 (+26) on Monday to finish in fourth place after round one of the Queens Invitational at TPC Sawgrass.

The Lady Eagles are three shots off the lead, as Belmont Abbey and Ashland University are tied for first place after each shooting a 311 (+23). Newberry is in third with a team score of 312 (+24).

C-N's Sarah Jane Sinard (Jefferson City, Tenn.) and Erica Ray (Maryville, Tenn.) each turned in a 76 on Monday to finish the day in a tie for sixth place. Jessica Tarbet (Corryton, Tenn.) is in a tie for 20th place after shooting an 80, while Melanie Manis (Louisville, Tenn.) and Jennifer Oliver (Knoxville, Tenn.) turned in an 82 and an 83, respectively, for the Lady Eagles.

The second round is schedule to start on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
