Young Harris sweeps Eagles in home opener

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (0-2) faltered in its home opener against Young Harris (5-2) in a 9-0 decision Sunday afternoon at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.   

Tiffany Delias (Morristown, Tenn.) partook in the closest match against Charlotte Moreau 6-0, 6-4.   

Carson-Newman had shuffled its lineup for the match.  The Eagles only used Stefy Stand (Ecuador) in the same singles spot – no. 1 – as she played in the Eagles' opening match against Alabama-Huntsville.  Stand dropped a 6-2, 6-0 match to Jane Plevako.

The Eagles face Converse next at 3 p.m. on the road on Wednesday.
