Eagles Ranked No. 20 in Preseason NSCAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Carson-Newman men's soccer team is ranked No. 20 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Preseason Poll.

The Eagles, who went 14-5-1 a year ago and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for a seventh straight season, are one of two South Atlantic Conference programs listed, as new conference member Anderson is ranked 14th.

Defending national champion Fort Lewis (Colo.) is ranked No. 1, followed by national runner up Lees-McRae. The Eagles are slated to face Lees-McRae on Sept. 22 in Banner Elk, N.C. Lewis (Ill.), LeMoyne (N.Y.) and Tampa (Fla.) round out the top five.

C-N opens its 2010 campaign on Thursday at home against St. Leo. Match time is set for 6 p.m. at McCown Field.
