Robertson's Rundown: September 21, 2015

Throughout the 2015 volleyball season, freshman libero Hannah Robertson (Soddy Daisy, Tenn.) will write about her experiences at Carson-Newman. A new installment will be released each Monday afternoon. Click on the links to read Robertson's passages.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope all of your weekends was as great as ours! CNVB started out this wonderful week with two very generous days off to catch up on some homework and some rest. On our second day off, we had a team yoga sesh to get a chance to relax and unwind as a team. It was a great way for us all to relax our bodies and minds and prepare us for the rest of the week and for our first conference away games. Although yoga is typically very peaceful and relaxing, when you throw Nat and Allie in the equation, not so much. From Nat's toe cramp, to Allie not being able to breathe from laughing so hard, "Namaste" was "no more."

With two days off and a couple of days of tough practices following, we were ready to hit the road for our first SAC away games. We traveled to the hometown of Nat and Sara to play Catawba on Friday and Queens on Saturday. Road trips are a great way for us all to catch up on sleep, homework and some much needed chick flick time. When I say there were sleeping bodies everywhere on the bus, I literally mean they were everywhere. It was like a human obstacle course to use the bathroom in the back of the bus or to get a granola bar from the front. It kept the ride pretty entertaining. When we finally arrived to North Carolina to play, we realized that all of our hard work is paying off and that we finally peaked just in time to beat both Catawba and Queens in their own gym. We are a very young team and I think that we came out and played our first away games with no fear and lots of confidence. It was such an awesome experience to come out on fire like that and I can't wait to experience many more weekends like that with my favorite girls ever.

After a long and very successful weekend for us, we are now leading the conference with a 4-0 record. Although we are leading, I know that won't affect how hard we are working. With a long week of 4 home games ahead of us, we will continue to play like we are at the bottom striving for the top. After this weekend is over, we are looking to hang up four more wins and hold on to our conference lead.

Have a great week Eagle fans!
