Davis, Borch named Chick-Fil-A Athletes of the Week

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman track and field's TJ Davis and volleyball's Maddie Borch have been named the Chick-Fil-A Male and Female Athletes of the Week.

T.J. Davis (Chattanooga, Tenn.) broke his current Carson-Newman school record for the long jump, as the junior soared 7.18 meters in the event to claim the top slot in the standings.  Davis ranks 13th in all NCAA Divisions in the long jump, and third in Division II. He has provisionally qualified for nationals. 

Junior middle blocker Maddie Borch (Walnut Creek, Calif.) tallied her first career double-double finishing the match with 14 kills and a career-high 14 digs leading C-N to the program's first Southeast Region title in a win over Lenoir-Rhyne.

She was named to the Southeast Region all-tournament team for her troubles.
