Happy Dig Pink month everyone! It's been an extremely busy week packed with four games in a matter of seven days. After traveling to Mars Hill and hosting our Dig Pink weekend, we added four more W's to the board. The days we weren't playing we spent in the gym working hard to prepare for our long week of games.
To lighten everything up and give everyone a nice laugh, the middles got a chance to set during Wednesday's practice. Nat and Kev never fail to keep us on our toes. This year's Dig Pink weekend was one for the books, and a memory I know all of us girls will keep forever. To get us pumped up before the game on Friday, Anna and Cecily did a nice pre-game zumba routine for us.
After watching a solid five minutes of modified jumping jacks, fast paced squats and some extremely strange moves that are still a mystery to us all, we were ready go. For our Dig Pink weekend, we all had sponsors that donated money for us ranging from every dig, set, or kill we got. After all three games were finished, we ended up raising around $5,000. I have to give a special shoutout to one of our libero's Meg though, as a joke her dad put down that he would donate 50 dollars for every kill she got. To everyone's surprise, Meg got her first kill this weekend and the look on her dad's face in the stands was priceless.
As soon as the game was about to begin on Friday, we had a surprise visit from the C-N Swim team. They all came in completely painted pink from head to toe, with their C-N speedos on as well. We must give credit where credit is due, because it was their constant support and energy and excitement that gave us strength to push through and clench an intense five-game win. Nobody does it quite like the Eagles do and we definitely showed that this weekend. We are spending this week preparing for a halloween weekend that will hopefully be one to remember. Look out everyone, the Lady Eagles might just put a spell on you!
