Orange Jack O'Lanterns Tie The Series Up with 7-4 Win- Derek Long Drives in 6 Runs

Game two of the best of five series was won by the Orange Jack O'Lanterns, led by Senior first baseman Derek Long, 7-4.  Long would drive in six of the seven runs for the Orange team.  The Jefferson City, TN native would hit a grand slam in the third inning to give his team a 4-1 lead.  In the fifth, Long would drive in Cody Nix who had doubled to lead off the inning, for his fifth RBI.  His sixth run driven in would occur in the 7th, a double to drive in Wesley Dozier who singled with two outs.  Cy Fraker, a transfer from Vincennes College, would pick up the victory.  Fraker would pitch five innings, giving up two hits and striking out five.  The Blue Knighthawks would strike first in the game, with a solo home run by Senior Mills Rogers, his second in two days.  The Blue Team made a serious threat in the sixth.  With the score 6-2, Morgan Gregory would drive in Corey Lamson who led off the inning with a double.   After a bases loaded walk and the score 6-4, Michael Elliott would strike out the nine hole hitter Chase Boruff.  With two outs, leadoff hitter Aaron Vargas hit a line drive that first baseman Derek Long would leap high off the ground to snag for the final out.  That would be the last threat by the Blue Team.  Losing pitcher for the Blue Team, Robby Thigpen, went five innings giving up six runs.

COACH WARD- "Very impressed with Cy Fraker.  I love the way we responded and I am very confident with our chances in Game 3.  Evan Faithful will give us a strong start and our bullpen is ready to go"

COACH ROGERS-"Started out hot with home run in first, but Cy Fraker kept us at bay the rest of the game.  We gained some momentum in the 6th, but fell short with a couple of big plays by the Orange Team.  Breaking in a freshman tomorrow on the mound.  Has sharp stuff and a very competitive presence."
