Carson-Newman's Bridgewater named SAC Pitcher of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Carson-Newman senior Austin Bridgewater (Morristown, Tenn.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

Bridgewater pitched the Eagles past Wingate University in a 9-2 road win Friday night, setting the stage for C-N's series win over the Bulldogs.

The right-hander allowed just four-hits in the complete-game win, while striking out seven. He induced 14 ground outs in the win to help limit the SAC's second-ranked offense.

Bridgewater and the Eagles return to action on Wednesday at home against Pfeiffer. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex.
