Throughout the 2016 volleyball season, freshman middle blocker Alex Biro (Ootlewah, Tenn.) will write about her experiences at Carson-Newman with the volleyball program. A new installment will be released each Monday afternoon. 

A week of productive practice and learning new things paid off. We won our game against Brevard in a five-set thriller, coming back three straight sets from a 2-0 deficit in the beginning!!! Obviously something we are accustomed to, but Friday night everything came together. Offense was keeping balls in play and reducing errors. Our defense was hustling after balls left and right.

It was a crazy match, but a successful one. Not to mention a great birthday present to libero Taylor Lowe, whose birthday was Friday as well!

We left Saturday for Lenoir-Rhyne and prepped for what turned out to be another five-set match. Although the game didn't turn in our favor, the growth of our team is evident. Heading into this weekend we are hosting the SAC/Peach-Belt crossover tournament, playing a whopping four games, 12 and 4 on Friday and Saturday at 1 and 5. We hope to see all you Eagle fans out there for a great weekend of volleyball!!
