Female Freshman of the Year

Emerson Ahsmuhs (Volleyball): It was California Dreamin' at Holt Fieldhouse this season as the Placentia native Ahsmuhs led Carson-Newman in kills, becoming the first freshman since Marnie Streeter in 2016 to lead the statistic. Ahsmuhs set her career high in kills with 22 against Francis Marion in September, setting a high bar that she later surpassed with back-to-back matches hitting over .40,0, leading to being named SAC Offensive Player of the Week and later to All-SAC Second Team.

Annie Dziczkowski (Volleyball): Annie Dziczkowski wanted to make sure everyone remembered her name out of the gates, collecting 17 kills in the season opener against then-No. 6 Missouri-St. Louis. Dziczkowski surpassed ten kills in three matches this season, setting the pace for the conference slate.

Maddie Hurst (Volleyball): Hurst exploded out of the gates in her first year out of high school. The Blaine, Tenn. native led Carson-Newman in blocks and hitting percentage while ranking second in kills behind fellow freshman Emerson Ahsmuhs. Hurst was named both the SAC and Southeast Regional Freshman of the Year and earned her spot on the All-SAC First Team
