JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman beach volleyball swept all four SAC/CC teams that came to the second conference weekend at Mossy Creek.
With wins over Catawba, Erskine, Emmanuel, and Wingate, the Eagles finished the regular season with an undefeated record in conference competition.
"It's very exciting," said head coach Cat Collins. "We've been working since January, and it's exciting to see our work pay off. Focusing on all the things that we've done on and off the court has come together, and we've worked really hard. All of our pairs played so great today, which shows why we haven't lost a home match in years."
The two's pair, Emerson Ahsmuhs and Ava Fountain, had a great performance across both matches today.
"The matches today were good, and we worked really hard to compete," said Ahsmuhs. "We haven't played these teams in the conference tournaments before, so going out and not knowing what to expect, we played really well."
"Emerson and I work really well together," said Fountain. "We're both very goofy on and off the court. Sometimes it might be a bit too silly, but it helps us play better."
