PITTSBURG, Kan. - Sophomore sprinter Devon Moore clocked in with a time of 6.78 seconds in the 60-meter dash for a sixth-overall finish and Luke Greer added to his long resume on Friday at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships inside the confines of the Robert W. Plaster Center.

The recorded time for the Baxley, Ga. native marked a new season-low time which previously sat at 6.79. Despite running a faster time in 2018, Moore was a second-team All-America honoree in the event with an 11th overall finish, making the jump five spots.

He clipped the South Atlantic Conference Champion PJ Lotharp of Lenoir-Rhyne in the prelim race who came in at No. 7 with a time of 6.79 seconds.

"The race gave me a lot of confidence," Moore said. "It proved that I belong here and am a contender for the national title. Tomorrow is the true test and I still have a lot to prove. If I remain focused, humble, and stay consistent, I believe I have a chance to win tomorrow."

"He wants to jump up there as a sophomore in indoors and say this is where I belong and what you need to expect," Coach David Needs said. "He has the confidence and ability to do so. Four-straight years we've had men run in the 60m at the championships and as a program, not many can match that. What that says about what we're able to do at C-N is a lot."

The 60m finals are slated for a 5:30 p.m. start on Saturday, March 9. Jahvad McDermott is scheduled to compete in the triple jump for C-N at 3:05 p.m.

Greer grabbed second-team All-America honors in the 5000-meter run after an 11th-place finish with a time of 14:26.79. The Northhampton, England native entered the championships with the 14th-best time in the country.

"I'm a little disappointed but I moved up three places so I can't be too downbeat," Greer said. "Felt like I got myself in a good position just couldn't finish it off, but it was a great experience. Hopefully, I can make it again for outdoor and improve on what I did here."

"He listened to what Coach Eric Phillips told him to do and that was just let loose and he was in there in the mix throughout the entire race," Coach Needs said. "He ran against the fastest time ever in D2 and you gotta take a swing for it. Sometimes it's a home run and sometimes its a fly ball but I thought he did just that and he still comes away as an All-American."
