Carson-Newman Remains at No. 7 in NSCAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The Carson-Newman women's soccer team remained at No. 7 in the latest Division II National Soccer Coaches' Association of America poll, NSCAA officials announced Tuesday.

The Lady Eagles are 11-0 on the season and are the only South Atlantic Conference team listed in the national top 25. C-N is also ranked second in the Southeast Region.

Seattle Pacific (Wash.), the 2008 Division II national champion, remains at No. 1, followed by West Florida, Saint Rose (N.Y.), Columbus State and Grand Valley State (Mich.).

Columbus State also holds the top spot in the Southeast Region, while Armstrong Atlantic State is third.

Other SAC teams listed in the regional rankings are Tusculum (fourth), Lenoir-Rhyne (fifth), Wingate (sixth), Newberry (seventh) and Catawba (eighth).

Three automatic berths to the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Tournament in November will be awarded to the tournament champions of the SAC, Peach Belt and Conference Carolinas. Three teams will also receive at-large berths.

The Lady Eagles return to the pitch at home on Saturday night in a SAC matchup against Catawba. The match is schedule to begin at 7 p.m. at McCown Field.
