Carson-Newman Women’s Soccer Climbs to No. 7 in Final NSCAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Carson-Newman women's soccer team jumped four spots to No. 7 in the final Division II National Soccer Coaches' Association of America Poll of the regular season, NSCAA officials announced Tuesday.

The Lady Eagles (18-2-1) made its climb on the strength of winning their second-straight Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament over the weekend. C-N, which is the only SAC team listed in the top 25, are also first in the final Southeast Region rankings.

West Florida remains at No. 1 in the national poll, followed by Saint Rose (N.Y.), Grand Valley State (Mich.), Metro State (Colo.) and West Chester (Pa.).

Other SAC teams listed in the regional rankings are Tusculum (fourth), Newberry (fifth), Catawba (sixth) and Wingate (seventh).

The Lady Eagles will make their seventh-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday as the No. 1 seed in the Southeast Region. C-N will host the winner of Friday’s match between Tusculum and Newberry at 1 p.m. at McCown Field.
