Carson-Newman Tennis Teams Split with King College

BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman women’s tennis team cruised to an 8-1 win over King College on Saturday afternoon. On the men’s side, C-N dropped a 5-4 decision to the Tornado.

The Lady Eagles (2-0) swept the doubles matches and never looked back, as their only loss came in the No. 5 singles match.

The Eagles (1-1) got off to a strong start with two doubles wins, but King (5-0) rebounded to win three out of the first four singles matches to take the lead and secured the victory with a three-set win in the No. 6 singles match.

Both teams return to the court at home on Monday against Lee University. Match time is set for 2 p.m. in Jefferson City.
