MARS HILL, N.C. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team defeated Mars Hill, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action.

With the win, the Lady Eagles improve to 10-3 on the season and finish conference play with a 5-3 record.

C-N got off to a strong start by sweeping the doubles matches and then followed with three singles victories to secure the victory.

Winners for the Lady Eagles in doubles were the teams of Amanda Bartlett (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Taryn Cappadona (Kennesaw, Ga.), Elizabeth Sneed (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Kylie Elliott (Maryville, Tenn.) and Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.) and Stephanie Goode (Alcoa, Tenn.).

Cappadona, Wilson and Goode all won their respective singles matches for C-N.

The Lady Eagles return to the court on Friday against the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky.
