RICHMOND, Ky. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team recorded its fifth victory of the season by defeating an injury decimated Union (Ky.) team by a score of 6-3 on Thursday afternoon.
Due to inclement weather, the match was moved indoors to the Adams Tennis Center on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University.
The Lady Eagles picked up match wins by default at five positions. The lone singles victory for the Lady Eagles came in the No. 3 singles match when sophomore Stephanie Goode (Maryville, Tenn.) rolled over Kacee Bargo 6-1 and 6-0. Goode's win clinched the match for the Lady Eagles.
C-N is now 5-1 on the season and returns to South Atlantic Conference action next Friday against Catawba. Match time is set for 2 p.m. in Jefferson City.
