Tusculum Tops Lady Eagles, 6-3

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Tusculum Pioneers downed the Carson-Newman women's tennis team by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.

With the loss, the Lady Eagles fall to 6-3 overall and 1-3 in the South Atlantic Conference. Tusculum improves to 13-1 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.

The Pioneers led 2-1 after doubles and then took four out of the six singles matches to secure the victory.

Winners for C-N were senior Elizabeth Sneed (Kingsport, Tenn.) and sophomore Kylie Elliott (Maryville, Tenn.) in No. 2 doubles, senior Amanda Bartlett (Powder Springs, Ga.) in No. 1 singles and junior Taryn Cappadona (Kennesaw, Ga.) in No. 4 singles.

The Lady Eagles return to the court on Saturday against conference foe Newberry College in Newberry, S.C.
