HICKORY, N.C. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team shut out Lenoir-Rhyne, 9-0, in South Atlantic Conference action on Friday afternoon at Hickory High School.

The Lady Eagles are now 8-3 overall and 3-3 in South Atlantic Conference play. Lenoir-Rhyne falls to 0-12 on the season and 0-6 on the conference.

The teams of Amanda Bartlett (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Taryn Cappadona (Kennesaw, Ga.), Elizabeth Sneed (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Kylie Elliott (Maryville, Tenn.) and Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.) and Stephanie Goode (Maryville, Tenn.) gave C-N a 3-0 lead with victories in their respective doubles matches.

The Lady Eagles closed out the match in strong fashion, as Bartlett, Cappadona, Elliott, Sneed, Goode and Tiffany Delias (Morristown, Tenn.) each picked up wins in singles play.

C-N returns to the court at home on Thursday against Brevard. Match time is 2 p.m.
