Tenn. - The Wingate women
outlasted the Lady Eagles winning by a score of 5-4. The
overall team match was decided by the last singles match on
court as Ewa Opala of Wingate defeated sophomore
Stephanie Goode (Maryville, TN) at the #6 position.
Other winners for Carson-Newman were Amanda Bartlett (senior,
Powder Springs, GA) and Taryn Cappadona (junior, Kennesaw, GA) at
#1 doubles, Kylie Elliott (sophomore, Maryville, TN) and Megan
Wilson (Maryville, TN) at #3 doubles, Elizabeth Sneed (senior,
Kingsport, TN) at #2 singles, and Kylie Elliott at #3
singles. The Lady Eagles return to action on Wednesday March
24, 2010 in Jefferson City against Tusculum. Match time is 2
p.m. Carson-Newman is now 6-2 overall, but drop to 1-2 in
South Atlantic Conference play.
