HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman (5-15, 3-6 SAC) men's tennis team dropped today's contest 6-3 to Lincoln Memorial (5-8, 3-6 SAC).
The team of Joao Oliveria (Brazil) and Austin Mackay (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) clinched C-N's lone point in doubles play with an 8-5 final over Gabriel Martins and Marcelo Alvim in the no. 2 spot.
Garret Duron (Woodstock, Ga.) and Jonathan Allen (Lenoir City, Tenn.) fell just shy of victory at no. 3 doubles. An 8-5 point was stolen by LMU's Guilherme Rocha and Alexey Minevskiy.
Juan Perez (Ecuador) defeated Will Sparks 6-3, 6-2 at no. 2 singles to add a point for the Eagles. Duron supplied the third point with a 6-2, 6-1 decision at no. 6 over Martins.
Oliveria was edged in a three setter at no. 1 singles by O. O'Sullivan-Hamill 6-4, 5-7, 6-1 to.
The Eagles head to Queens tomorrow at 2 p.m.
